With the Blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Ilarion, Primate of UOCC, a Clergy Retreat was held in the Western Eparchy. The retreat commenced at the Providence Renewal Centre in Edmonton, AB, with a time of theological reflection, prayer from the daily cycle of services offered in the retreat centre chapel, the sharing of common experiences and concerns among the parishes of the Western Eparchy, and the strengthening of the bonds of love and unity among the clergy present with their Primate.

The retreat culminated with the celebration of the Hierarchical Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts on the morning of Wednesday, April 2, at St. John’s Cathedral. In Edmonton. His Eminence Metropolitan Ilarion was assisted by the clergy of the Western Eparchy of the UOCC.

At this Liturgy, Archpriest Patrick Yamniuk of the Ukrainian Orthodox Sobor of St. Volodymyr, in Calgary, AB, was awarded the Jeweled Cross by His Eminence, Metropolitan Ilarion.
